BECOME A NINJA
Our main season runs in the fall at the beginning of September. During the spring and summer, we participate in tournaments and any non-league games we schedule. During the Fall Season, the teams we typically play against are The South Buffalo Sinners, Pittsburgh Forge, Buffalo Women's, The Cleveland Iron Maidens, & Akron Women's.
We placed 1st in the 2019 Nash Bash Rugby Festival, 3rd in the 2016 Can-Am Tournament at Saranac Lake, 1st in the 2015 Ruck Cancer Tournament, and in the Savannah Shamrock Tournament we placed 4th in 2015 and 3rd in 2016.
After our games, we get together with the opposing players and fans called "socials." For home games, we provide food and drinks, and everyone has the opportunity to get to know one another.
How do I join?
If you're interested in joining Ninja Rugby, visit our Facebook page or reach out to any player directly about coming to one of our practices. Practices are held on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 6 - 8 pm at Mang Park in Kenmore. All experience and skill levels are welcome. If going alone isn't your thing, bring a friend!
Why should I join?
Maybe you've played before and are looking for a recreational league to join, or you have never played but have always been interested. Maybe rugby is your next physical challenge, something fun to help you get in shape. Perhaps you're looking to join for the social aspect of belonging to a team. Whatever your reason, this inclusive team will provide a fun, spirited experience for you!
Are there any requirements for joining?
Nothing crazy, just be a female 18 years of age or older.
What if I've never played?
That's perfectly okay. No experience is necessary to join and we will teach you everything we know.
What if I don't want to get killed?
Rugby is an intense sport, and injuries happen, but we promise it's not the violent craziness you're probably imagining. We do everything in our power to ensure the safety of all players and take all precautions possible.
What should I bring to practice?
If coming, be sure to wear athletic clothing (shorts, t-shirts, sweatpants, etc.), a mouth guard, and cleats if you have them, otherwise regular athletic sneakers will work fine. Remember, BRING WATER and dress for the weather!
Does it cost money to be a member?
The team has small seasonal dues to cover expenses, coaching, referees, etc., but they are very affordable.
I have other questions I can’t find here. How do I contact you?
